An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team here at Moorview Vets!
This is a part-time role working a minimum of 16 hours per week, we are open to discussion on of which days and hours that can be worked. The Saturday shifts work out in around one in seven to ten, 8.30am-5pm, time is given back for Saturday hours the following week. One bank holiday a year (excluding Christmas day and New Year’s Day). Salary for the role is up to £25,500 depending on experience pro rota.
The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of nursing care including clinics and in-patient care before, during and after surgery, schedule 3 surgeries is optional.
We are looking for someone who is happy to be working in a large team, confident in all aspects of surgery/medicine workups and be able to provide high quality clinical care to all pets.
We are a long established first opinion, small animal veterinary practice with 6 primary care branches in the northeast and a large group of staff. The position will be mainly based at 2 of our branches in Backworth and Shiremoor with occasional visit to other consulting branches.
We are one of the only northeast first opinion practice with a CT scanner in the premises, the rest of our equipment is modern including in-house lab, digital x-ray, ECG, ultrasound, Laparoscopy and dental x-ray.
We have a great team of nurses including 11 RVNs, 4 SVNs and 3 animal care assistants. A number of our RVNs are trained in schedule 3 procedures, allowing our vets time to deal with more complex cases, and we also have RVNs working towards further qualifications in ECC, behaviour, and feline nursing. There is a great atmosphere amongst the staff.
About the Team and Culture
We are a large group of over 60 staff members. In the vet team we have medical, surgery and emergency critical care certificate holders as well as rabbit and dental enthusiasts.
CPD is supported and actively encouraged within the team. The practice is friendly, with good communication among the staff and in normal circumstances there would be opportunities to meet outside of work to socialise.
We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse with a great work ethic and excellent communication skills. We would be willing to employ a newly qualified nurse who is looking to gain further experience in a supportive environment. The ability to work well in a team and have a passion for all aspects of general nursing are essential. The candidate must hold a full clean driving license.
