The Role 

Here at Penmellyn Vets, we are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who has experience with Diagnostic Imaging to join our experienced team as we continue to grow our services. Due to having an already brilliant in-house team, we are able to offer both full-time and part-time hours allowing you to strike that balance between work/family life.

Here are Penmellyn, we are spread across 6 different sites as we provide first class care to our patients across Cornwall, and beyond! As demand for our services rises, we need to ensure we have the right team in place to futureproof our business, whilst constantly being able to offer more specialised services, such as Diagnostic Imaging. 

About the Team 

As it stands, our team consists of 25 fulltime Veterinary Surgeons working across our 6 sites and a further 50 RVN’s who provide pivotal support across all aspects of our work. If that wasn’t already enough we also have a European Boarded Specialist in Orthopaedic Surgery who heads-up our Cornwall Veterinary Referrals Department.

The Offer

Due to the flexibility we can offer (part-time/fulltime hours), both salary and packages can vary depending on your experience levels however to give you an understanding we would be comfortable offering the right person up to £65,000 + £5,000 signing on bonus! Flexible working/ childcare friendly hours and a relocation package available.

Additionally, we are very keen to support certificate study and professional development, and we will strongly support the successful candidate in developing their clinical interests further.

It is the home of A30 Referrals, offering advanced expertise to practices throughout Cornwall and South Devon in disciplines including Orthopaedic, Spinal and Soft Tissue Surgery, Cardiology, Ophthalmology and hospitalised case management. As an emergency centre, we are equipped to provide urgent support for pets needs ranging from Caesarians and Road Traffic Accidents to Spinal Surgery and Rehabilitation.

We encourage our clients to take out Pet Insurance, and are all our clinics are able to provide registration with PetPlan. A sound insurance policy not only offers peace of mind to our clients, but ensures that advanced health care is available in NHS-style ‘Free at the point of use’ and removes financial concerns from the treatment options you select for your pets. We always provide clients with a range of treatment options for you to choose the care you want for your pet. By explaining in detail any processes involved, we aim to bring you in to treatment plan as much as possible, with all the guidance you want.
