About Us

Bellevue Vets is a modern, purpose-built clinic situated in the beautiful countryside just outside Frome, Somerset. We’re situated in the beautiful village of Trudoxhill, close to Frome, on the border of Somerset and Wiltshire, with plenty of free parking on site. We’ve even got a few lovely countryside walks right on our doorstep should you want to take a stroll whilst your pet is being treated.

Our practice was founded and is still operated by David Francis BVetMed BSc(hons) BVetMed MRCVS. David wanted to create a veterinary clinic that would provide the best possible care for horses and small animals using advanced treatment methods but with traditional values of personal customer service, professionalism, integrity, and community spirit.

Our commitment to advanced veterinary treatment extends beyond our highly trained team. We have a wider team of colleagues at Bellevue made up of some of the UK’s leading visiting veterinary consultants with specific expertise who regularly visit the practice offering treatments including orthopaedic surgery, soft tissue surgery, advanced dentistry, and remedial acupuncture. We also have an expert farrier to provide regular and remedial shoeing. This team offers their expertise to complement our wide range of services, ensuring that we provide everything that your animal needs.

We are fully equipped with the latest in modern equine diagnostics – DR x-ray, endoscopy, gastroscopy, high-quality ultrasound, and motorised dental kits with oroscope and class IV laser

We currently have 5 Veterinary Surgeons with 3 being Small Animal and 2 Equine, 4 Registered Veterinary Nurses, and 2 Student Veterinary Nurses. Our team is also studying towards certificates in Medicine, Emergency and Critical Care, and AVP Equine. We are also lucky to have a visiting Orthopaedic Surgeon.
