The Role
Pride Veterinary Centre are currently on the lookout for Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team. Medicine is a busy and demanding discipline, yet challenging, exciting, and rewarding. In this role you will work in various areas of the hospital, concentrating mainly on x-ray, ultrasound, CT, and endoscopy. You will require a high level of skills to enable the best care for our patients who are often in need of intensive care in our ICU department. As a Medicine Nurse you will play a diverse role from placing IV catheters, drug calculations/preparation, anaesthesia, and sedation monitoring during procedures, including CVT and endoscopy.

It is a busy discipline in which we all support each other’s physical and mental capacity ensuring we are getting the best out of each other. With medicine being so varied, there is always scope to progress and expand your knowledge. This is achieved by sharing practical skill opportunities i.e. placing central lines or anaesthesia of challenging cases along with attending or presenting the occasional short presentation/CPD on chosen subjects. Cases can be discussed within the team, interns, and residents.

The working hours for this role are varied and could be between 8:00am and 6:00pm with one late working until 7:00pm. You will be required to take part in the weekend rota working 1 in 6 full weekends from 7.:45am to 6:00pm, 2 lieu days would be given the following week in exchange for the weekend work. We have a bank holiday rota in place which means our nursing team is required to work 1 or 2 bank holidays a year. There would also be a requirement to take part in the night cover and on-call rota, further information on this would be discussed at the interview. We are happy to consider full-time and part-time applications.

The salary for this role is up to £26,633 FTE depending on experience.
