My clients in Greater London are looking for a confident small animal Senior Veterinary Surgeon with a thorough knowledge of first opinion veterinary care. They are looking for someone who will inspire and lead a team of experienced Vets and Nurses to ensure the best clinical standards are met. You will be passionate about delivering top-quality veterinary care and customer service and be confident in coaching and guiding colleagues.
The role would involve a mix of management/consulting and surgery over 5 days and mostly consulting only on a Saturday morning (3 hours). No OOH. Salary range £60,000 to £65,000 dependent on experience.
They operate a busy practice with a very diverse case load and a 100% small animal focus based in London close to good transport links. They have grown by looking after clients, their pets and supporting colleagues. The surgery houses all the usual equipment. Their digital x-ray (including dental) and ultrasound are all Dicom enabled and linked into our Consulting rooms. In house blood machines, multi parameter monitoring equipment, and more. Currently they have 3 experienced vets, 3 RVNs and support staff. They support staff currently studying towards a Post Graduate Certificate.
The role would suit a vet with solid experience in first opinion practice – the progression to step up into a Clinical Director position will be considered. Must be RCVS registered. Previous exposure to non-routine cases would be great plus the ability to take "ownership" of the Practice. Excellent communication skills are required together with strong surgical / dental skills and the ability to meet deadlines. They require a motivated individual with a focus on delivering an exceptional service to clients. You will be commercially minded with a good understanding of finance and budgeting and be comfortable with sole charge and sound clinical experience.
