Registered Veterinary Nurse - Stroud, Gloucestershire

We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic Night Nurse to join our dedicated team at Clockhouse Veterinary Hospital. Our fantastic clinical team consists of 10 vets, 9 nurses, 4 VCA’s and students. The practice is located in the beautiful historic market town of Stroud. Close to Cheltenham, Bristol and Bath.

As a Night nurse you will work sole charge providing first class care for our inpatients, triaging calls and assisting the on-call vets with emergency procedures. We currently take OOH emergencies until 10pm after which it is inpatient care only. We encourage a rest period during the shift, work load permitting.

Our brilliant facility boasts separate cat and dog wards with large walk in kennels, CCTV, easy access to referral advice, doppler and Oscillometric blood pressure machines, multiparameter monitor, Infusion pumps, Idexx Blood machine, portable ultrasound and a digital x-ray machine with AI interpretation.

The shift pattern is every other Saturday night with the option of day work during the week. We actively support our team in pursuing areas that are of interest to them and offer generously funded CPD. Salary is £25,500 - £27,500 FTE.

We foster open communication and carry out regular meetings practice wide and openly encourage engagement and ideas from all team members.

We are a high standard first opinion team that fully works up medical cases and performs advanced surgical procedures e.g. TTA, perineal urethrostomy and laparoscopic procedures. The team includes certificate holders and those currently working towards certificates. We are supported by a local referral hospital nearby where CT and advice is readily available.

Applicant Requirements
You must be empathetic with a passion for excellent inpatient care and emergency work. You should be confident with a proactive approach and be able to work under your own initiative. Experience of night nursing is an advantage.
