Founded over 100 years ago, Cromwell Vets is a well-established small animal, primary care practice with our own in-house lab facilities. Cromwell Vets is a busy 24-hour first opinion small animal hospital, RCVS accredited, with practices in:

• Huntingdon – the main hospital
• St Neots
• St Ives
• Great Cambourne
• Ramsey
• Sawtry including our ARC, Animal Rehabilitation Centre

Our practice has been caring for pets for over 100 years and we pride ourselves on providing the very best care and service for our pets and their owners. We are fortunate to have our tier 3 hospital with excellent facilities and equipment and are now primed ready for further growth including a move to a new purpose-built hospital with CT facilities.

Our wonderful nursing team is at the heart of Cromwell Vets – we are one big family! Cromwell Vets also holds regular social events including summer events, impromptu lunchtime barbeques in the summer and the famous annual Christmas party.

We are committed to staff wellbeing and have trained mental health first aiders in the business to support all staff. We have been revamping our clinical rotas to make improvements to our teams work life balance. We also have the support of our Chief Nursing officer who represents nurses at Linnaeus Executive level and her team to provide training, cpd, sharing best practice and promoting nurses in general.

Your role and responsibilities

Who we are looking for:

• A confident, dynamic, RVN who has the ability to multi-task and use initiative.
• Sole branch nurse
• Full time is 40 hours per week, rolling rota
• Week 1 – Mon – Sat, late night on Tues, Sat 9-1pm, off Sun
• Week 2 – Mon – Thurs off Fri, Sat, Sun
• Week 3 - Mon – Sat, late night on Tues, Sat 9-1pm, off Sun
• Week 4 - Mon – Thurs off Fri, Sat, Sun

• A branch nurse daily routine is to carry our nurse clinics till 9am till 11am, minor routine operations are on 2-3 days per week 11am till 1pm. On days where there are no operations, then consults are all day till 6pm and till 9pm on late night openings. Other duties including supporting the vet in consults. Our nurses complete all routine nurses clinics, i.e. nail clips, 2^nd vaccinations, post op checks, anal gland expressions. We also offer complex nurses’ clinics such as Renal and diabetic clinics.
