Church Walk Veterinary Centre – 2 x New Graduate Vets – would suit Vets with an interest in ECC

An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for 2 x New Graduate small animal Vets to join our team here at Church Walk Veterinary Centre, a two centre small animal practice based in the small market town of Ulverston, with a busy branch in Barrow in Furness. We pride ourselves on first class clinical and client services. You will be supported by a fantastic team of RVN's, Head Nurse, 2 other Vets and a Practice Manager.

The charming, bustling, Market Town of Ulverston is famous as the birthplace of Stan Laurel, and is known as the “Festival Town”. The town has a cobbled Market Square many specialist shops and several restaurants and pubs. The stunning Lake District National Park is only a 20 minute drive away, with unlimited options for hiking, cycling, climbing etc. making this a haven for outdoor enthusiasts! Junction 36 of the M6 can be reached within 30 minutes, giving easy access to visit Scotland and other parts of England

As well as enjoying our modern facilities, well equipped practice and a busy varied caseload, you will have access to a range of benefits and our tailor made New Graduate programme offering you the right support network in practice by ensuring you have an experienced clinical mentor working alongside you in your practice. In addition, you will attend dedicated Continued Professional Development (CPD) days and have a choice of placements, supporting the development of your clinical and non-clinical skills,  including self-leadership, teamwork, wellbeing, resilience and business, as well as clinical interests whilst also providing the opportunity for you to share experiences with fellow graduates.

We manage our own out of hours and therefore this is an excellent opportunity for Vets with an interest in ECC.  We can also offer a very flexible rota allowing for plenty of time off to ensure a healthy work life balance.

These are just some of the benefits of the programme:

  • Salary of £31,000 which increases to £33,500 at the end of year 1 and £36,500 at the end of year 2
  • No financial tie-in beyond completion of the programme
  • Professional memberships (RCVS & VDS)
  • Up to 7 weeks annual leave with our Buy & Sell holiday scheme, plus bank holidays
  • 10 CPD days a year covering both clinical and non-clinical skills and tailored to your clinical role
  • A committed and trained clinical buddy working alongside you in practice, with regular meetings to support your transition from student to qualified vet
  • Workplace pension scheme
  • Discounted pet treatments
  • Employee Assistance Programme: 24/7 365 days a year helpline to support you and your immediate family when you need it the most
  • Opportunity to enrol onto the country's first Advanced Clinical Practitioner (Veterinary) degree programme in conjunction with Nottingham Vet School – providing you with both a masters qualification and CertAVP
