The Role
Due to expansion we are now looking to recruit a third Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our exotics team. We are looking for nurse who enjoys being hands on and can work alongside the existing team in this growing and developing discipline. Caring for exotic patients on a daily basis both for consultations and periods of hospitalisation. You will also assist with procedures, imaging, anaesthesia, organisation of the day and the day to day running of the exotics ward.
The working hours for this role are varied and could be between 8am and 5.30pm (with one late working until 7pm). This equates to an average of 43 hours per week. You will be required to take part in the weekend rota working a 1 in 6 full weekends from 7.45am to 6pm, 2 lieu days would be given the following week in exchange for the weekend work. We have a bank holiday rota in place which means our nursing team are required to work 1 or 2 bank holidays a year. There would also be a requirement to take part in the night cover and on call rota, further information on this would be discussed at interview. Salary range £22,908 to £26,633 dependent on experience.

You will work alongside the Exotic’s Specialist, 2 Exotic’s Vets, 2 dedicated Exotic Nurses and Exotics Kennel Assistant.

Required skills and experience:
• Registered RVN
• Experience with exotics/wildlife
• Be able to organise and prioritise
• Professional, confident, eager to learn new skills.
• Drive to develop discipline and nursing care for patients
