The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team here at   Beaufield Vets, Celbridge! We are a busy, friendly and supportive small animal hospital. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: in-patient care, surgical and dental nursing, laboratory diagnostics, nurse clinics, radiography, anaesthesia, reception. We want to make sure every member of staff has a great work/ life balance, so we are happy to be flexible with the rota to fit in with the applicant's lifestyle. One in three weekends (finishes Saturday at 2.00) No out of hours responsibilities come with the role.

About Us

We are a very friendly, professional hospital where there is a huge emphasis on work/life balance. Strong support for mental health awareness, self-compassion, and resilience building. Support, mentoring and a commitment to CPD and further education are core values. Situated just west of Dublin city and well served by bus and rail for easy commute.

We currently have a great team of six vets, seven nurses, a practice manager and support staff. The successful candidate will be a good communicator and team player who is interested in using their education at a practical level every day, doing what they do best: nursing; and is also interested in pursuing further learning and both personal and professional development in an environment where there is great support and always someone on hand to help when it is needed.

Applicant Requirements

The applicants should be friendly, capable of working in a team and committed to providing excellent nursing care to the animals while also being able to deal with the owners in a compassionate and empathetic way.

The applicant should have some experience of working in a small animal veterinary environment. The applicant should be interested in applying the skills they learned during their training in practical ways, and also in advancing their learning on the job, by learning from others in the team, and from CPD. The applicant should be interested in mental health awareness, self-care and compassion and resilience.

During the last number of years it has been a registered centre for veterinary nurses training with both The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, London and University College, Dublin.

A major extension and renovation of the premises provided BVC with a state-of-the art hospital equipped with facilities to care for over 50 in-patients at any one time with dedicated Isolation units, Intensive Care units, Medical, Surgical and Anaesthetic Recovery units.
