A fantastic opportunity has arisen at Medivet 24 hour Dearne valley for a Night Veterinary Surgeon to join our dedicated team on a 7 nights on 14 nights off basis. Our clinic works closely with the other practices in South Yorkshire, giving you scope to share best practice and assist with complex cases. You will be fully supported by an experienced Veterinary Nurse and twilight PCA, alongside our excellent training and development opportunities, you will have a platform to thrive in an out of hours environment.

We provide an excellent first opinion, emergency, critical care, and referral service and work to the highest clinical gold standards. We also are very privileged to work alongside a multi-disciplinary Virtual Referral Service VVS. The VVS digital platform makes it possible to have real-time live interactions with Veterinary Specialists. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to treat a wide range of patients and conditions with the support of dedicated professionals.

Skills and experience:

The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years' UK small animal practice (or UK equivalent) experience.

We also offer relocation allowances should you move more than 40 miles from your current home address. 

We can also support Certificates of Sponsorship for a Tier 2 (General) Visa if you meet the criteria and are eligible to register as a veterinary surgeon with the RCVS upon arrival in the UK.


Dearne Valley is a 24 hour purpose built facility with up to date digital x-ray, ultrasound and full body CT scanner, VVS and an in house laboratory.

The practice has 3 large consulting rooms, 2 theatres, large prep area, internal lab facilities and large learning and office spaces.
