The Role

We have an exciting vacancy for a registered veterinary nurse to join our team at Stapenhill.

Our ideal applicant will be a good communicator, be trustworthy and a team player. You will join a friendly and supportive team of 8 vets and 8 nurses including a student veterinary nurse. Our well-equipped surgery has facilities for medical and surgical care of patients, treating a varied case load of companion animals, birds, and exotics.

Surgical caseload includes, neutering, soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics and dental. The role involves a variety of first opinion practice duties including; monitoring anaesthetics, assisting with imaging using radiography and ultrasound, completing laboratory samples, nurse clinics and assisting Vets in consulting. There will also be some time spent at our Stretton and Hilton practices.

This is a full-time position of 41.5hrs a week including a share of evenings and weekends. Part-Time working hours would be considered but this would need to involve evening and weekend work.

The salary for this role is up to £25,704 depending on experience.

As well as having a central hospital with a referral centre and a dedicated night team, we have local practices such as Stapenhill and Stretton that are in the heart of the communities, offering first-class care at a convenient location for pet owners. The modern equipment at Stapenhill and Stretton practices include digital x-ray, ultrasound, and dental x-ray. We also have two operating theatres plus three consulting rooms so, therefore, provide an all-round service.

About the Team and Culture

We are RCVS accredited for small animal general practice and we have a team of 8 vets supported by several qualified and experienced nurses. We also have client care advisors as the first point of contact with our patients and their people. We proactively run many clinics such as weight clinic, puppy and kitten development and positive practice visits, all contributing to the delivery of outstanding healthcare to our friendly client base. Stapenhill is an ISFM silver cat-friendly practice.

Applicant Requirements

Required skills and experience;

  • Nurse clinic knowledge would be an advantage
  • Interest in nutrition, weight management and preventative healthcare
  • Stock control awareness
  • Driving Licence
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
