Company

DentalVets was founded in 1997 and our activities are confined to oral and dental conditions in animals. We provide clinical referral services to veterinary surgeons and their clients' animals from our premises near Edinburgh.

Our clients and their pets travel to us from as far south as Lincolnshire and as far north as the Orkney islands. We are able to assist clients with pet friendly accommodation if required.

Pet owners can be assured that all cases are managed by a registered specialist from start to finish. All cases we see need to be referred by your own veterinary surgeon. After treatment has been concluded here your own vet will continue to provide general veterinary care for your pet.

We also supply dental advice and treatment to zoos, private collections and animal charities in the UK and abroad.

A core activity is to provide specialist veterinary dental education to practitioners and veterinary schools. We organise and run regular surgical  wet labs. Many of these are highly practical with a few and four delegates.

We guarantee our clients and their animals an outstanding service by a recognised specialist in dentistry and oral surgery: the only veterinary surgeon in the world to be registered as a specialist in the UK, Europe and North America.

As of 2013  there are currently only four RCVS specialists in veterinary dentistry in the UK. Norman Johnson is also one of 29 European recognised specialists and 110 American specialists.

We have our own dedicated dental and oral surgical clinic in North Berwick, near Edinburgh and are also a major education provider in the UK, both to veterinary schools and, via post-graduate courses and webinars, to veterinary surgeons and nurses in practice. Our teaching models have been developed over twenty years and are in use all over the world.
