Job Details

The Role

We are looking for a veterinary surgeon with at least 2 years’ experience to work in our busy Preseli or Cardigan surgeries (location negotiable). Our case load is hugely varied with plenty of opportunity to develop and grow in all areas of veterinary medicine – from routine neutering to complex soft-tissue and orthopaedic surgery. We are expanding our Preseli practice due to demand and there is considerable scope for any Veterinary Surgeon based in this location to help shape the future of this surgery.

This position is available on a Full or Part-time rota. Our normal working hours are Mon – Fri 8:30 – 17:30 and Sat 8:30 – 13:00 (our Saturday morning surgery is staffed on a 1:5 rota). Between 8 pm and 8 am our OOH emergencies are diverted to Carmarthen Veterinary Centre which has a dedicated night team of vets and nurses.  Our 'on call' vet is only required to be available for emergencies until 8 pm and on this day they start work at 9.30 and work until 6.30 pm. We have a 1:5 on-call rota. We have two vets consulting on a Saturday and no routine ops. Our vets are all supported on call by a dedicated RVN. We are a close-knit, friendly team and would like a team player with good communication skills. Coaching and OV experience would be a plus but is not essential as we have experienced vets who can mentor junior candidates.

Salary up to £51,500 (DOE)
