Veterinary Surgeon

The Role
An exciting opportunity has become available at Companion Vets for a Veterinary Surgeon!

We see a varied, first opinion caseload including routine care, preventative health care, as well as some ECC. The role will include a good mixture of consultations and surgical work, but it can be more focused on consultations if this is what you require, we offer 15-minute consults, but this can be discussed if more time is needed. You will be required to follow up on cases and we are keen to encourage case continuity, where possible.

This is ideally a 40-hour per week role over 5 days a week and alternate Saturday mornings, but part time hours will be considered. No out of hours.
Salary up to £60,000 depending on experience.
 
About Us
We are a long-established, small animal practice in a semi-rural setting very close to the historic market town of Newark. We have built up a large loyal client base over the past 30 years and focus on giving the highest patient and client care possible. You will be joining an experienced team with post graduate qualifications in our well-equipped practice including a digital x-ray machine, ultrasound machine, and Idexx lab facilities.

As a team we are very supportive and have a great working environment. When possible, we enjoy the times we can get together for social events.

A good work-life balance to us is very important and we are lucky to live in a very picturesque, historic market town but within close proximity to many cities such as Nottingham and Lincoln. The town is surrounded by lots of beautiful countryside to enjoy outdoor activities in your spare time, as well as many heritage attractions for sightseeing and a busy centre for the shoppers among us. The cost of living in Newark is relatively low with affordable housing and we have great commuter link roads near such as the A1. The East midlands airport is also only a 45-minute drive away.
 
About the Team and Culture
Our team is made up of 1 Vet, 1 registered veterinary nurse and 6 support staff. You will need to have the ability to make decisions, have good interpersonal skills, and a compassionate nature. We have a supportive experienced team that will always be on hand to help.
 
Applicant Requirements
We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon who ideally has some post graduate experience. You will need to have the ability to make decisions, have good interpersonal skills, and a compassionate nature. There will be some occasions when sole charge will be required but we have a supportive, experienced team that will always be on hand to help.
