Job Details

We are looking for a Farm and Equine Veterinary Surgeon to join our dedicated team. A typical day at Wensum Valley would include a mix of equine and farm cases with a mix of clinic based work and ambulatory visits. We start with coffee at 8.15am and set the day's diary up. We have informal case chats and are all happy to discuss our cases. We head off on rounds, either on our own or with a tech, or see our patients at the clinic. Our clients are very friendly and appreciative. We do our utmost to keep them happy and spend the day endeavouring to do our very best for them. This is a full time position working 5 days per week with one half day (fixed) plus 1 in 4 weekend rota.

We have a modern, purpose built clinic. There is a farm room, two equine consulting rooms (one with stocks) and an operating theatre. Outside we have a trot up and lunging area as well as our stables. We have digital x-ray (wireless), digital ultrasound, endoscopes, gastroscope, Shockwave, Therapeutic laser, Bull fertility testing kit, Easiscan and several HDE dental poweefloat kits.

We are a 5 vet team. We all deal with equine and farm cases. There are 3 receptions/admin/ technicians. We have an extremely friendly and supportive team who look out for each other. We aim to provide a professional service within a relaxed, informal atmosphere - with both each other and clients. We always provide support and back up for any vet whether are new here or not.

Ideally we would like to employ a veterinary surgeon with some. Farm experience in particular would be beneficial but not essential. We need a friendly candidate who enjoys communicating with our clients as much as they enjoy the clinical aspect of the job. Our clients are very important to us and we value them all. We expect the candidate to respect that and want to build strong relationships of their own here. They should also be able to communicate well within the practice. We are looking for a team member who is supportive and respectful of those around them.
