Job Details

Proudly independent small animal practice in Gloucestershire looking to expand our friendly team. We are based over 2 sites with all the usual toys. Many of our vet and nursing staff have been with us for decades enabling us to have a truly nurturing team. We have recent experience of taking on new graduates and have a qualified vet GDP advisor ready to support and encourage any new graduate who is interested in the role.

We can offer full time or part time if desired. We cover our own OOH which we feel not only provides excellent care to our clients but also helps new grads to learn important skills, whilst being fully supported at all times by a second on call director. OOH weekends is 1 in 6.

Being independent you will have complete autonomy when it comes to case management, we encourage case continuity but have a very open door approach and often discuss cases amongst the team. Vets operate and consult every day so less experienced members of the team can progress quickly with daily operating experience. We manage our appointment diary carefully to avoid burn out. To aid individual vet’s progression we are happy to support a certificate.

We are a nurse training practice and have a large number of very experienced qualified nurses who are an asset to the practice. Similarly we support several local charities including Street Vet, Starfish Dog Rescue and are the PDSA practice for Gloucestershire. We believe in providing care to all client’s pets who are in need and being able to tailor a treatment plan accordingly is a useful skill to have.

We are based in Gloucester which has excellent transport links, great walks in the beautiful Cotswolds and of course a rugby obsession! The lovely spa town of Cheltenham is close by and the recently regenerated Gloucester docks has lots to offer.
