Veterinary Surgeon - Walsall, West Midlands

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Veterinary Surgeon to join our close-knit team. We have a diverse day on offer for the successful candidate with day to day duties involve consulting 9am-11am, with 15 minute consultations. Operations are booked between 11am until 1pm with a minimum of a two hour break in the afternoon. Consulting then restarts again from 4:30pm-7pm. This would be for 5 days per week although this could be flexible with part time applicants considered. Salary for the role is between £40,000-£45,000 FTE depending on experience.

Hillman vets are a 6 branch practice based in the West Midlands. We have branches based in Walsall, Darlaston, Brownhills, Lichfield and Cannock. We are a strong team consisting of 9 FTE Veterinary surgeons with varying interests and 11 FTE Veterinary nurses. We also have a strong support team of VCA's and dedicated receptionists. We have digital x-rays machines, Ultrasound machines which we use for abdominal scanning and also echocardiograms. We also own a laser therapy machine and laparoscopic equipment. We support certificates and further personal development and currently have 4 of our vets studying for certificates. We are opposite the arboretum in Walsall and have close links to Birmingham city centre. Here you will find a huge range of shops, bars, restaurants and theatres to enjoy.

We have 9 FTE Veterinary surgeons and 11 FTE Veterinary nurses. We have 22 support staff in our team which include VCA's and dedicated receptionists. We currently have 4 veterinary surgeons studying towards certificates in Surgery, Ophthalmology and Diagnostic imaging. We also have special interests in cardiology, medicine, physiotherapy and exotics amongst our team. We require a new veterinary surgeon who can join our team and help us to continue being able to offer a high standard of care to our clients in both medicine and surgery.

The successful candidate will have use of a digital x-ray machine, laparoscopic equipment and ultrasound. The candidate would not be expected to work out of hours and the weekend rota is 1: 6 Saturdays 9am-3pm. Ideally the successful candidate would have experience in consulting and routine surgery.
