Part Time Veterinary Surgeon required at St George's Vets, Sedgley, Dudley

The Role
We are looking for a GP veterinary surgeon who loves consulting, to work sole charge in our Sedgley branch. Our consultations are 15 (some are 30) minutes long in maximum 2hour blocks. Breaks for phone calls, reporting bloods and repeat prescriptions are built into the diary.

Having a lunch break and leaving on time should be the norm, not the exception!
You will be supported by an RVN and receptionist. Our experienced RVN runs clinics which include- weight, senior, nail clips, AGs, POCs. The ability to do routine surgery is ideal but not essential for this role. Facilities and time to operate daily if desired.

This role is part time with some flexibility on working hours. There is on call or OOH at this branch as we have our own night staff at our hospital.
Our nearby hospital provides immediate clinical support to branch vets as well as providing OOH, diagnostic imaging, advanced surgery and overnight hospitalisation to branch cases.

The job is located in Sedgley in the West Midlands. It has a long established and loyal client base so we would like a vet who places a strong emphasis on building relationships with our clients and their pets.

We are looking for a part time veterinary surgeon. Duties will include consulting, surgical procedures, client liaison, working up cases, and treatment plans at one of our established branches.

The Rota
Working Monday and Tuesday 9.30 to 6.30pm, Wednesday 9.30 to 2pm, Saturdays 9am to 4pm on 1:2 rota at our Wolverhampton Consulting centre branch
Approx 24 hrs/week
Salary: Between £35,000-£50,000 Depending on experience and subject to pro rata

About Us
St George’s are a busy, long established, RCVS-accredited veterinary practice with multiple sites alongside our hospital. Our main case load consists of dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs.
Our ethos is to provide a high standard of supportive and compassionate care to our clients and their pets. Our 15-minute consults allow us to spend more time with our clients, focusing on quality rather than quantity. We encourage our vets to work cases up to a high standard, allowing clinical and professional freedom. We support each other clinically and case discussions are positively encouraged as part of a culture of support and collaboration.
We offer the very best in preventative medicine as well as when pets are unwell, but we understand that all clients and their pets have individual needs.

Successful Candidate
We would be looking for someone who is enthusiastic, confident, a team player with excellent communication skills, cheerful and willing to get stuck in. Ideally, we are looking for at least 12 months of experience or more, however a confident new graduate would be considered. Special interests will be welcomed and supported including relevant certificate study.
This vacancy would also be suitable for transition back into practice for colleagues who may be currently on a career break.
