Job Details

We are looking for a new small animal veterinary surgeon to expand our team across our practices.

We are currently a team of 15 full and part time vets, including Cardiology and , Opthalmology certificate holders as well as plenty of proud general practitioners.

The role is flexible and could be moulded to suit your interests, whether they lie in the consulting room, operating theatre, or in 'hospital' inpatient care (or a mix of all). Niche interests can be supported and encouraged, but are certainly not a necessity.

We are open to either full (40hrs/week) or part time applicants. Our opening hours are 8.30-7pm Mon-Fri, and 8.30-1 Saturday.

We are a Vets Now host practice, so inpatients can remain on site without worrying about the pragmatics of transferring unstable cases.

We have all the usual gadgets - digital and dental radiography, multiparameter anaesthetic monitoring machine, ultrasonography (inc. Doppler), endoscopy, ECG. Additionally, we run a comprehensive in-house laboratory (microscopy, haematology, biochemistry as well as Idexx Catalyst for in-house cortisol, CRP, fructosamine, progesterone..), and a daily dedicated lab nurse to facilitate the above.

MBM Veterinary Group is a large, friendly, long established practice, close to the beautiful Ayrshire coast with convenient road and rail links to Glasgow (30 minutes’ drive) and central Scotland. We have surgeries in the towns of Kilmarnock, Mauchline and Beith and dedicated teams providing small animal, equine and farm veterinary services. The area provides an excellent base for those enjoying outdoor pursuits including equine sports, watersports, cycling, hill-walking and golf.

Salary up to £44,000 negotiable DOE.

Company

Formed in May 2014 when two of Ayrshire's oldest practices, McKenzie, Bryson & Marshall (Kilmarnock, Beith) and Barr & MacMillan (Mauchline) merged. We are a modern, independent veterinary practice which has grown from roots in Ayrshire for over a century.

Our teams of five equine vets, seven farm vets and ten small animal vets work across three RCVS-accredited branches with state of the art facilities, supported by our dedicated nursing and administrative staff.

Our goal? To provide the best possible healthcare to our patients and the very best service to every client.

We are committed to excellence in veterinary care.

At the beginning of 2013 our practice changed its name from McKenzie, Bryson and Marshall to MBM Veterinary Group. Times move on and it was over 30 years since the partners who gave their name to the practice had retired.

We felt a new easier name is more appropriate for our modern practice. Although we have changed our name we still hold the same traditional values, providing species specific vets who will strive to provide you and your animals with the highest standards of up to date veterinary care.
