Job Details

We are currently looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly team in Durrington, Wiltshire. This is a part time, fixed term role working 27 hours a week over 3.5 days with 1 in 3 Saturday mornings and the following Friday off in lieu. Likely ongoing employment at the end of the fixed term contract, subject to mutual agreement. Salary range of £40,000- £46,000 depending on experience.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an amazing friendly team of 5 Veterinary Surgeons, 6 Veterinary Nurses and brilliant support Team. This role provides a great mix of management work, operating and consulting over a four-day week. We have 20-minute appointments and so there is time to examine patients properly and work up the cases. During operating sessions there will be a good selection of routine operations, dental procedures, diagnostics, and more complex operations but with the backup of local referral centres in our network. We are a busy practice and some days the workflow will be challenging while on other days’ time allows for managing the practice and private study.

Stonehenge Vets is based in Durrington, a small semi-rural town near the beautiful Cathedral city of Salisbury. Being located on the edge of the Plain we have beautiful countryside and great walks. We are close to the South Coast and with easy access to London and the South West. We are an RCVS approved General Practice with a busy branch in nearly Tidworth.

We are a strong team with a great mix of skills throughout. We are a patient focused practice, and we pride ourselves on our care. The service to our clients is second to none and we are blessed with lovely clients with a large percentage of insured pets. Our communications about cases are frequent, informal, and friendly throughout the working day and we help each other wherever and whenever we can. We are keen to learn more and progress in an inclusive environment.

Our ideal candidate will be happy to work in a small friendly team where ideas are frequently bounced around. We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon who is experienced as some sole charge will be required as well as the ability to help and support colleagues too.
