An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Full or Part time Veterinary Surgeon to join our team here at Andale Veterinary Centre in Widnes, Cheshire. Salary Banding £35,000 - £50,000 (pro rata for part time)

The full-time working pattern runs from 9am -7pm with a half day each week. Mornings are a mix of operating or consulting from 9am – 12pm with one-hour admin at the end of the morning. Afternoon consults start at 2pm and run through until 6.30pm with half an hour admin built in. Bank holidays are limited and shared out fairly. We are open Saturday mornings, and our vets work 1:3, consulting 9am – 12pm with breakfast included and time in lieu given back the following Friday afternoon. No OOH worked required as our OOH cover is provided by Vets Now. If your preference is a 4 day week or part time please don’t hesitate to apply as we are open to discussion for the right candidate.

About Us

We are a single site, small animal practice with an established client base and a supportive and friendly team. Our close-knit team is made up of 7 nurses, 7 vets and a team of 6 receptionists. We provide a high standard of care, and we value and encourage professional growth for all our staff. We encourage staff discussion and input through monthly meetings and regular appraisals. We also have regular nights out and chippy Fridays along with a half day shopping at Christmas.

Andale is a purpose-built practice with off road parking and two operating theatres, in-house laboratory, tonometry and a multi parameter. We have separate dog and cat wards an imaging room including digital x-ray and ultrasound. We are a RCVS accredited training practice and also an RCVS General Practice accredited. We are a cat friendly clinic and working towards being a rabbit friendly practice also.

The Winning Candidate

We are looking for an experienced, RCVS veterinary surgeon, confident in surgery and consulting with strong communication skills and able to work well as part of a team.

John Dinsdale has been a veterinary surgeon in Widnes since graduating from Glasgow University in 1984. He later bought the practice in Liverpool Road and subsequently moved the surgery into the current purpose built building in Ditchfield Road where he now has a further four Veterinary Surgeons working in his team.
