The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team here at Animates as a night nurse. The role is varied as every shift is different depending on the patients in the hospital. We treat cats, dogs and most exotic species.

The night nurse is responsible for patient care with a vet available on call, if required. Part of the role will also include preparing the practice in readiness for the following day for example, inpatient sheets, stocking up, destocking hospital supplies, deep cleaning etc. On a quiet night there will also be administrative tasks to complete. Shift days and hours detailed below.
•    3 nights every 2 weeks (Sunday 8:00pm-8:30am, Monday 9:00pm-8:30am, Tuesday 9:00pm-8:30am)

About Us

Desire to provide an excellent level of customer and patient care is paramount. We have recently achieved ‘Outstanding’ in all 5 eligible categories in the Practice Standards Scheme. Animates is fully equipped with excellent facilities and equipment, set in spacious premises.

We are ideally located close to Stamford, Peterborough and just 1 hour to Cambridge/Lincoln/Leicester.

Our fantastic, supportive team comprises of 12 vets, 18 nurses (14 RVNs, 4 SVNs) and 12 support staff. We have a very loyal client base, 20-minute appointments (including nurse clinics all day every day) with a focus on client education and preventative health care.

Applicant Requirements
We are looking for a RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse with previous experience gained in a similar small animal/exotic practice setting. Excellent communication skills, the ability to work well within a team and have a strong work ethic is essential.

Exotics clinic at Thurlby premisies run by Sarah Pellett BSc(Hons) MA VetMB Cert AVP(ZooMed) MRCVS. Sarah is happy to see a wide range of exotic animals including small mammals, reptiles, rabbits and birds including parrots, raptors and chickens.
