Veterinary Surgeon - Worcestershire

We are seeking a full time or part time enthusiastic veterinary surgeon to join our team of friendly vets, nurses and receptionists.

The Practice
We are a busy, long established, RCVS-accredited, independent small animal veterinary practice. The practice is a single site in the busy town of Redditch, within 45 minutes of Stratford-upon-Avon, Birmingham, Worcester and the Cotswolds.  Our interesting caseload is predominantly seen in dogs, cats and rabbits, although we also see a wide variety of exotic mammals, reptiles and birds as one of our vets has a special interest in these fascinating creatures. Knowledge and experience of exotic pets is welcomed but not essential. There is plenty of opportunity for support and training to provide ongoing development

Our ethos is to provide a high standard of supportive and compassionate care to our clients and their pets. Our 15 minute consults allow us to spend more time with our clients, focusing on quality rather than quantity.  We encourage our vets to work cases up to a high standard, allowing clinical and professional freedom. We support each other clinically and case discussions are positively encouraged as part of a culture of support and collaboration.

We have a range of diagnostic equipment. Digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopes, fully equipped laboratory, blood pressure monitor and various other smaller pieces of equipment. We have infusion pumps to support our hospitalised animals and two fully equipped dental machines. We have separate cat, dog and exotics wards. There are two spacious theatres for operating and three good sized consulting rooms.

We have an amazing long-serving, hardworking team of nurses and receptionists who are friendly, helpful and well accomplished. There is always a friendly face or a spare hand to help out. We also have a regular visiting ophthalmologist.

The Role
We are looking for a full time veterinary surgeon. Duties will include consulting, surgical procedures, minor procedures, client liaison, working up cases, caring for hospitalized animals, treatment plans and visits. After 7pm on weekdays and 6pm on weekends, our phones will be put through to our out-of-hours provider.

• No OOH after 7pm weekdays, 6pm weekends

Successful Candidate
We would be looking for someone who is enthusiastic, confident, a team player, cheerful and willing to get stuck in. Ideally, we are looking for at least 12 months experience, however a confident new graduate would be welcomed and supported. Special interests will be welcomed and supported.
