About us 

Medivet Hampstead Garden Suburb is led by two Branch Partners, Jeremy and Sarah, who between them have been there over 20 years and have a strong bonded client base, who are very invested in their pets and giving them a high standard of care.

We are a practice who pride ourselves on our genuinely friendly, supportive and collaborative team and there is always someone to ask for advice or lend a helping hand. Both have certificates in Medicine, with Jeremy's interest lying in complex and chronic medical cases and Sarah doing a lot of the advanced soft tissue surgeries, alongside enjoying the client relationships with our regular patients.

Like many practices we have grown over the last two years and are seeking an extra vet to make sure everyone has a comfortable and manageable work load whilst also being able to accommodate the volume of demand from our patients – both in quantity and quality. It is very important to us that we have the time and ability to give great quality care, and as part of this we run 20 minute consults as standard.

Alongside the Branch Partners, we have another full time Surgical Vet and we are recruiting for this position to bring us up to 4 vets. We have 5.5 nurses (including 3 RVNS) and 3.5 receptionists.

We also work closely with our large 24 hour hospital in Hendon which is 10 minutes down the road which is our OOH provider and where all our inpatients are hospitalised and more complex surgeries/imaging (CT and MRI) are carried out.

The role:

We are seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join our amazing 12 strong team at Hampstead Garden Suburb!

This role can be considered on a 3-day or 4-day week with 1:3 half or 1:6 full weekends. The hours are 9am-7pm with an hour lunch break each day.

Full time salary package up to £67,369 per annum depending on experience to include:

Skills and experience:

Ideally we are looking for someone who is a confident all rounder GP vet – happy with a mix of consults, inpatient case management and first opinion level procedures/surgeries, to complement our existing team of our (almost) consult only Branch Partner and our Surgical Vet.

An interest in imaging would be very welcomed and supported but not essential.

Medivet Hampstead Garden Suburb has a busy but enjoyable atmosphere and would suit someone wanting to have the opportunity to build on their clinical skills with the opportunity to work up their cases to the highest level.

We are very well-equipped with both digital x-ray and dental x-ray, ultrasound, blood pressure machine, pulse ox, lab including microscope, separate cat and dog wards and staff room.
