The Role
We are looking for a full-time practice manager to join our progressive practice and friendly team. The role is perfect for someone who has a keen passion for coaching and leadership, as the role will involve day to day management of the practice and support of our team managers (accounts, client care, nursing, pharmacy and laboratory team.)

You will have a diverse workload, with the requirement to work with internal and external stakeholders to support and oversee a variation of tasks, including HR, recruitment, marketing, finance and budgeting to name a few. You will work alongside our leadership team of two supportive clinical directors. The position is for 40 hours per week covering 5 days, working hours are 9:00am-17:00pm.

Salary up to £50,000 per annum depending on experience.

 About Us
If you want to work in a dynamic environment in which no two days are the same, Parkvets could be the ideal place for you. We have a very large main hospital with 8 satellite branches located in the South East of London and Kent border. We also provide our own out of hours service, so all our patients are looked after in house 24/7 with all modern facilities, including our very own laboratory staff. Equipment includes endoscopy, laparoscopy, digital direct imaging, ultrasound. We are an approx. 28 vet practice, with many certificate holders in varied disciplines (surgery, medicine, imaging, dentistry, ophthalmology, exotics)

With our separate cat, dog and exotics wards, each encompassing their own operating theatres, as well as dedicated dental suites, ultrasound facilities, endoscopy and of course x-ray, Parkvets has all the toys, bells and whistles you would expect.  We also have an extensive lab, staffed by bio-medical professionals experienced in supporting the vet team. You may not have been expecting that!

About the Team and Culture
We are a large and established team of 28 + Vet Surgeons, 28 + Nurses, 50 + Support & Admin Staff. We are a very friendly and pioneering team and work to a very high standard of care. We have a culture in place that stems from open communication, support to all staff and conscious efforts to encourage all to reach their full potential on a daily basis. Several members of our team could win awards for their baking abilities (as well as some clients to be fair to them) and we all enjoy socialising together outside of work. We even participated in every “triathlon” charity vet challenge back when they were a thing (and are very sad that they don’t exist anymore!)

Applicant Requirements

The individual we are seeking is an experienced leader with an innovative approach to all tasks. The successful candidate would be a very supportive and empathetic individual who has experience in managing large teams and/or mentoring and coaching experience. Due to the nature of this role we require you to have Veterinary Industry experience or similar along with a strong administrative background and finance awareness. You will have had experience with managing customer care and as a result be able to navigate difficult scenarios with a friendly and proactive approach. Our team and their wellbeing is one of our greatest focuses. Therefore, we need someone who is likeminded and is keen to work with us at improving our staff well-being, inclusive of mental health.

As a BAME and LGBTQ+ inclusive employer, we are keen to hear from candidates from all minority and diverse groups. As a Disability Confident Employer, we are keen to hear from candidates with disabilities and long-term health conditions and would be happy to discuss any reasonable adjustments needed during the recruitment process.

Company

You would be forgiven for thinking that all veterinary practices are alike - after all every vet wants the very best for their patients - but the variation in service levels is as extensive in the veterinary world as it is in any other profession.

Parkvets is an accredited Tier 3 practice with all the facilities and equipment that would imply.  We manage the vast majority of our cases in-house without the need for expensive and inconvenient referral and we operate our own out-of-hours service.

To achieve this we have a team of 16 vets supported by more than 20 nurses - most of whom are fully qualified - who tend our in-patients morning, noon and night.  And our vets have over 90 years of cumluative experience, so there is not much we haven't seen.
