Veterinary Surgeon - Strathaven, South Lanarkshire

The Role

We are looking for a full time Veterinary Surgeon to join our dedicated small animal team at Avondale veterinary group to work within our 1st opinion small animal practice. Working on booster vaccinations, consults, orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery & medicine cases. There is scope to develop a niche and follow your own interests here.

·         Working 4-day week

·         38 hours per week (full time – but we can consider part time and job share applications)

·         1:4 Saturdays (8:30am-12pm)

·         No OOH

Salary up to £50,000 negotiable DOE.

About Us

Avondale Veterinary Group is a single site practice based in Rural South Lanarkshire. We are technically a mixed practice but this a small animal position. Our Farm and Equine departments operate separately. We operate out of a large purpose build building, with lovely facilities, separate dog and cat wards, dedicated theatres, a dedicated dental suite. Digital x-ray (including dental), ultrasound and scopes. We have a large waiting room, consult rooms the practice has fourteen Vets, (4 equine, 4 farm and 6 small animal), six Nurses and one animal care assistant. We are also a Nurse training practice.

Set in the heart of Scotland's Dairy belt South of Glasgow have some of the best views in the country with ready access to the coast and hills. We also benefit from having good access to Glasgow (40 minutes), Edinburgh (1 hour) and major road networks so travel is easy. For those with an adventurous spirit there is plenty of access to mountain biking, water sports and hill walking, without being too far from civilisation.

Applicant Requirements

Ideally looking for a vet surgeon with small animal experience that may have a desire to develop their niche in a role which allows them to grow and must be confident working sole charge, must be fully qualified vet and on the RCVS register.
