About Us:

Established for almost 90 years, 608 Vet Practice offer primary care services for small animals and pets in the locations of Solihull, Acocks Green and Bentley Health. All our practices offer a full range of veterinary care, 24 hours a day seven days a week from our highly experienced team who strive to provide excellent quality veterinary care.

The Role:

We are currently seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse on either a Full or Part time basis to combine with our long standing and highly experienced nursing team. At 608 we can offer a busy and varied caseload, including exotics; all under the one group, which includes our main Solihull hospital with dedicated Night team and our two branches which individually can also offer something different from the hospital environment.

Utilising our nurses to their full potential is important to us and includes working up nurse consults as well as Schedule 3 procedures.  We have a fantastic in –house laboratory which is run by an NHS technician; so, if diagnostics/labs are of interest to you, we have the capability to offer something interesting there also.

You will work a 37hour week with varying shifts between 8am – 7:30pm as well as contributing to the weekend rota.  There are no OOH as this is covered by our Night team.  Being a 24 -hour centre means we provide high levels of care, which continues throughout the night so you can feel confident that in-patients are receiving the highest quality care and monitoring.

We can also offer development opportunity to move into a Lead Nurse role with an Education bias, focusing on CPD, nurse development etc., but can also look at your areas of interest and ensure we cater to your ideals in your nursing career.  Feel free to talk to us about what you are looking to achieve in your own development, and we may well have what you are looking for.

Benefits:

  • Funded and Encouraged CPD -  access to over 150hours of pre recorded CPD delivered by our expert clinicians and nurses. All of our nurses receive a robust induction to help you thrive in your new role. On top of this you will have access to modular courses on a variety of topics including our AVA accredited anaesthesia and analgesia modular course.
  • 5 Weeks Annual Leave + Birthday leave
  • RCVS / VDS membership fully funded
  • Staff discount
  • Discounted Gym membership
  • Wellness Programme
  • Eye care & cycle to work scheme
