The Role

We are looking for Veterinary Surgeons to join us at Myerscough Veterinary Group. We have opportunities available across several of our fantastic branches:

Darwen: Day to day first opinion consulting and operating alongside a great proactive support team. This would be 4 days per week. There is on site surgical facilities. They would do 1 in 4 Saturdays but there is also scope to join our Vets Now hybrid rota if you wanted ECC work.

Lytham/Freckleton: These are day to day consulting only branches but you would work very closely wit our surgical site at St Annes. There would be surgical time there and at the main hospital.

Padiham/Great Harwood/ Oswaldtwistle: Great established case load first opinion practice. Lovely team and town to work in. Surgical time is at the main RCVS approved hospital on a rota basis.

All off these roles have the option for no OOHS; 1 in 4 Saturday days or a supported ECC element. We would consider part time for all and we are family friendly practice. Salary range is £29,000 - £54,000 dependent on experience.

About Us

We have 19 branches spanning across Lancashire. We have a mix of consulting only branches, surgical sites, ECC/ referral hospital and a rehabilitation unit on site. We have on site CT scanner, digital/ dental radiography, Ultrasound scanner at most surgical branches, on site lab facilities at all surgical branches, microscopes for cytology. The rehab unit has Pool, treadmill and K laser.

Our team is made up of 26 Vets, 15 RVNs and multiple support team members. We have Cert holders in Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Surgery and Internal Medicine as well as a Vet working towards her Dental certificate, ECC cert and a Vet with an interest in Cardiology.

Any Vet joining us will get full support but ideally we do also need people that are happy sole charge for some of the time for consulting. We have systems in place to support new graduates though and are happy to help develop their skills. We actively encourage study for certificates and are keen to develop referral work with in the practice.

Applicant Requirements

MRCVS essential. Some UK experience would be advantageous but not essential. Ability to work sole charge would be an advantage especially at the Darwen branch.
