Job Details

We have an amazing opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team on a full or part time basis with no OOH work.

Full time would be 40 hours per week and 1 Sat/Sun in every 4. Part time we would consider any desired working hours around commitments or childcare, we can be flexible, it is important we can provide a work-life balance for us all.

The role is the full mix of veterinary nursing, no day is the same, we actively encourage our nurses to fully use their skills taking radiographs, taking bloods samples, and starting intravenous fluids in addition to the more routine tasks. We are developing our nursing clinics with most of our diabetics managed by the nursing team. We are offering a salary of £20,000 - £24,000 depending on experience with benefits shown below.

We are a well-equipped small friendly practice who love learning and teaching, established for 62 years on our current site we really are part of the community. Sharing all our knowledge is something we love to do, your opinion and input matters to us. We say our practice is like a patchwork quilt, everyone has a piece to bring to create the full picture, from the cleaner to receptionists to the clinical directors to you, everyone has importance and value of different shapes and sizes. We live and breathe by our unique team approach, and we thrive with that ethos.

Large numbers of our clients have been registered with us for many years and these long-term relationships are key to our success and always remain important to us, we truly believe in a cradle to grave relationship with our clients. Currently we are 3.5 FTE, but hope to move to 5.25 soon, supported by a dedicated reception team and four full time RVNs. The vets are split across three branches, but the nursing team, work most of the time in Newbury and work in Thatcham on a rota basis.

What Emma our locum nurse has to say about us - “What I love about your practice is you truly value everybody’s contribution”

Company

We have surgeries in Newbury, Thatcham and Kingsclere. All are well equipped and professionally staffed to provide the best of care for our clients.

We understand how frightening it can be when a pet is sick or injured. We appreciate that this can be made worse if you have to travel to a strange place to see a vet you don't know. So we run our out of hours emergency service with our own vets in our Newbury Surgery.

We are all pet owners ourselves and fully understand just what important members of a family they are.

Our aim is to give the best advice to keep pets healthy and we offer a comprehensive program of preventative care for a long and active life. And if a pet does fall ill or has an accident, they can be assured we are always there to provide a quality caring service.
