Job Details

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Senior Veterinary Surgeon/Co-Clinical Director to join our friendly team and work alongside our current CD. The role is working up to a 4 day week, time varies between consulting & operating. No OOH. We like to start the day by having morning rounds in order to discuss any inpatients we have in the practice, as well as making a plan for the day ahead. This gives us the opportunity to talk about any cases we have coming in for the day, as well as planning our surgical cases. Each vet gets designated theatre time, as well as ample time to work up medical cases. When not in theatre, time is spent consulting either at our main practice in Sheringham, or at our branch clinic in Cromer. You will be happy to support and guide new graduates.

At Miramar, we pride ourselves on providing a first class level of first opinion small animal veterinary care. Both of our modern practices sit in ideal locations on the beautiful North Norfolk coast, and have been valued parts of the communities for many years. Our team enjoy discussing cases with each other in order to maximise individual skillsets and interests, and we are always keen to stay up to date with the latest advances in veterinary medicine and surgery. We currently have one Advanced Practitioner within the practice, and are always welcoming our clinical team to expand on their skills and knowledge, so would happily support certificate training.

We have 4 full time and 1 part time vets across both practices, with an Advanced Practitioner in Feline Medicine. We are also lucky enough to be supported by an experienced team of 5 qualified RVNs, 2 SVNs and 1 ANA. Our support staff are also really experienced, and form an invaluable part of our team. We are a very friendly team, and even throughout the pandemic have been creating ways to keep our spirits high. The latest event we are doing is a weekly 'Bake Off', and are already planning what social events we will be organising once lockdown has been lifted! As we like to keep our community feel within the practices, we support local businesses within our front of house pet shops, as well as local and international charities.

We would like to employ an additional experienced vet, who is capable of sole charge and comfortable with a range of first opinion surgeries. However, we pride ourselves on offering support to all members of the team, regardless of experience levels.

Company

We understand owners’ dedication to their pets, even in the economic climate of today, which is why we try to keep our prices competitive. We also realise clients have a choice when registering with a veterinary practice and we believe our longstanding team of professional staff at Miramar provide a familiar and stable environment for owners to develop a trusting relationship.

We realise that when your pet is ill this can be upsetting and sometimes frightening. We choose to provide our own emergency cover, round the clock, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This enables us to be there for you when your pet needs us out of hours. Emergency out of hours phone number: 07721 427782.

Our ever increasing range of services and continued professional development means our team is abreast of the latest products and protocols in the industry, thereby providing the best possible service and advice for our clients. Being a privately owned practice, our vets do not have sales targets and are under no pressure to sell products, making their advice completely unbiased.

We have a keen interest in our local community, providing funding and sponsorship for local projects and charities, including NNCLT (North Norfolk Cat’s Lifeline Trust), as well as taking part in carnivals during the summer season and visiting local schools to help educate the next generation of pet owners.
