The Role

We are looking for a large animal mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at Whitehouse Vets in Derry on a full-time basis (part time applications can also be considered). You will be working on various caseloads ranging from equine work at stud farms and stables with scanning, respiratory & fertility to beef, sheep, and diary ranging from TB testing, scanning, herd fertility as well as routine procedures covering farms as far as Donegal.

Salary

Up to £50,000 negotiable D.O.E

Welcome bonus of up £1,500

About Us

Located in the heart of Derry, our practice provides a wide variety of extensive services, from hospitalisation and intensive care to routine diagnostic testing performed on-site, the hospital has ultrasound, x-ray and dental facilities. We have a separate surgical suite and strive to provide the best in anaesthetic and surgical care, from routine spays and neuters to orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery. Should the need for referral arise, we have excellent relationships with many specialists in areas such as internal medicine, critical care, surgery, cardiology, dermatology, ophthalmology, and oncology. For large animal work we have further ultrasound scanners, bull & tup semen testing equipment and equine dental tools.

The team consists of 8 Vets, 4 RVN, 3 SVN & 4 support staff. One of our vets holds 2 certificates one in Surgery & one in Medicine. Another vet has done advanced CPD on orthopaedics surgery and we fully support and fund additional CPD.

Applicant Requirements

Ideally we are looking for an experienced large animal vet surgeon but we can consider new graduates for this role as full support will be given. You must be RCVS & VCI registered and have a full UK driving licence as a company van is provided.
