Veterinary Surgeon required at The Wheelhouse Veterinary Centre in Chesham, Buckinghamshire
 
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly team on a FULL-time basis at our Chesham surgery which is our busiest centre. This position would look to pay £35000-£50000 DOE and it would be working a four-day week with a weekend rota included. We would also offer a generous relocation allowance if you were looking to move to the local area.
 
About Us
We are very well equipped modernised RCVS accredited practice with endoscope, laparoscopic bitch spays, ultrasound scanner, DR and CR Radiography, Class 4 Laser, 3 consult rooms and an in house lab. We have surgeries in Chesham, Chalfont St Giles, Amersham, and Beaconsfield. Located in the picturesque countryside of the Chilterns, perfect for horse riding, cycling, and walking. You are surround by golf clubs and country parks like Wendover Woods, Black Park and Landley Park, all while being within easy commute of London.
 
As a practice we strongly believe in providing our team members with a nurturing and caring environment. We actively encourage and fully support team members’ professional ambitions by providing opportunities to develop with regular funded CPD. The excellent care and service that we provide to our clients and their pets is very important to us. A big part of being able to provide this is through ensuring that our team are fully equipped with all the tools that they need, working in the best possible surroundings.
 
Our team is made up of 16 FTE Vets, 19 RVN’s, 5 SVN’s, 13 reception staff and an extensive admin team made up of Practice Manager, Team Development Manager, Admin Manager, Group Nursing Manager, Clinical Manager, Facilities and Cremations Manager, Insurance Coordinator, Office Secretary and Office Assistant. Fully supportive management structure. 2 Clinical directors and a Practice Manager. On top of this a full team of Heads of Departments running monthly catch ups.
 
We have lots of members of the veterinary team either engaged in or achieved certificates in oncology, ophthalmology, physiotherapy, dentistry, anaesthesia, emergency and critical care, orthopaedics, small animal medicine, feline medicine, and dermatology. We also have members of the team with special interests in animal behaviour and dog training and of course wellbeing. As a practice we actively support several different charities both locally and nationally each year including Street Vet, Marjorie Nash Cat Rescue and Macmillan Cancer Support.
 
We have a committed clinical team with many Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Nurses holding or engaged in postgraduate qualifications as the practice combines first opinion with an internal referral service. Responsibility and specialism are strongly encouraged to develop further opportunities and skills to the practice and personally. We have a strong focus on job satisfaction with a number of employee perks.
 
Applicant Requirements
We are looking for an experienced, confident, and friendly Veterinary Surgeon to join our wonderful team in our Chesham surgery. You will be required to be confident in small animal medicine and surgery and will need to be willing to be forward thinking and self-motivated.
