Role:  Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon – (Days)

Location: Huddersfield, West Yorkshire

Hours: Permanent, Full time 4 - day week, 1:4 Saturday AM, 1 in 10 w/end on call, 1 in 10 weekday on call

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience -£35-60k per annum, open dependent on experience and skill level

About the practice:

With a network of 7 branches, (one with hospital status and state of the art equipment), this practice prides themselves on being an independent practice for the local community, which they have been a part of for over 100 years. It is very important to the practice that all applicants understand the important relationship between the practice and its clients, and how despite their size and how much they have grown, that they are there for the owners and their animals as much as they have always been. They pride themselves on providing ‘total care’ for pets and the help they can give in all aspects of pet ownership. The team is available 24/7 to provide great customer service and top-quality care.

The Role:

As a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon for this practice, you need to be a good general practitioner, in all areas of consultations and surgeries, the ability to do sole charger is an advantage. A minimum of 2 years’ experience is advantageous. Very accomplished new graduates would be considered.

We are looking for a highly motivated vet who wants to work in a busy independent practice with a strong support system. 

The successful individual will want to build up their own client basis and develop good customer relationships, they will want to be part of an expanding practice and enthusiastic about the care we can provide to their patients. They will be happy to work independently but enjoy being part of an enthusiastic and dedicated team.

The role on offer is a permanent, full- or part-time contract, 4 and a half day working week, roughly 1 in 4 Saturday mornings and 1 in 10 full weekend days. The weekday working pattern is negotiable and there is a lot of variation within the current staff.

There is a good split between consults and surgery, therefore we are looking for a surgeon that is comfortable and able to do both.
