The Role

We are looking for one or two Veterinary Surgeons to join our dedicated and supportive team at Miramar Vets in Norfolk. We are looking for individuals who are comfortable with general first opinion small animal consultations, as well routine surgeries. The position has no OOH requirements, as this is outsourced to a neighbouring hospital. Shift patterns can be flexible, depending on whether full or part time hours are requested, with the practice being open from 8.30am until 6pm Monday to Friday, and 8.30-12 on a Saturday. Full time hours are 40 hours per week, with Saturday mornings on a fair rota basis.

Salary up to £50,000 but negotiable DOE

About Us

Miramar Veterinary Centre is a recently refurbished practice sitting on the beautiful North Norfolk coast. We aim to offer the best clinical standards to our patients and are always keen to invest in the practice and team members in order to achieve this. Mental health and wellbeing is really important to us all, and we aim to provide a fair and manageable rota, with regular days off, as well as a good level of support. Our team is our priority, and we are constantly working to reduce the added pressure that the current climate has gifted to the profession. We are only a short walk away from the sea, and have a number of lovely beaches as well as nature reserves in the local area. Perfect for days off!

We currently have a team of four Veterinary Surgeons, one being a RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Medicine - Feline, and we strongly encourage any special interests within the veterinary, nursing and administrative team. Our vet team works closely with our team of 3 Registered Veterinary Nurses s and 1 Student Veterinary Nurse, with full back up from an experienced support team. We all enjoy working as a close knit team, with no suggestions ever being ignored, and are therefore keen to find another team player who is also keen on improving clinical standards as well as enjoying case discussions.

Applicant Requirements

We are ideally looking for a qualified veterinary surgeon who has some experience behind them, in order to comfortably tackle the more common routine appointments and surgeries. However while we encourage team members to be proactive, we also encourage clinical and non-clinical discussions in order to aid further learning, and for all team members to feel supported.

Company

We understand owners’ dedication to their pets, even in the economic climate of today, which is why we try to keep our prices competitive. We also realise clients have a choice when registering with a veterinary practice and we believe our longstanding team of professional staff at Miramar provide a familiar and stable environment for owners to develop a trusting relationship.

We realise that when your pet is ill this can be upsetting and sometimes frightening. We choose to provide our own emergency cover, round the clock, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This enables us to be there for you when your pet needs us out of hours. Emergency out of hours phone number: 07721 427782.

Our ever increasing range of services and continued professional development means our team is abreast of the latest products and protocols in the industry, thereby providing the best possible service and advice for our clients. Being a privately owned practice, our vets do not have sales targets and are under no pressure to sell products, making their advice completely unbiased.

We have a keen interest in our local community, providing funding and sponsorship for local projects and charities, including NNCLT (North Norfolk Cat’s Lifeline Trust), as well as taking part in carnivals during the summer season and visiting local schools to help educate the next generation of pet owners.
