The role:

We are seeking an Assistant Veterinary Surgeon to join our successful close knitted team in Ashmore vets, in Orpington, Green Street Green.

Joining our professional, personable team in the practice, you’ll deliver exceptional care by going beyond consulting to listen and empathising, putting patients and clients first, always.

This practice provides an excellent learning environment, as well the opportunity to see a wide range of weird and wonderful case load. The team is friendly and supportive, has a real family business feel about it.

As qualified MRCVS, you’ll already have good experience gained in small animal practice. You’ll be competent in clinical examination and surgery and confident working sole charge or as part of the wider team. Sharing our values being trustworthy, caring and progressive, you will have all the softer skills essential to working effectively, building trusting relationships with your colleagues, harnessing our one team culture.

You will also display good communication skills and the desire to share your knowledge and skills by being an outstanding, positive example to others.

Skills and experience:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-2 years’ UK small animal practice (or UK equivalent) experience and be confident in their recommendations.

We collaborate between all the branches so you are supported whether sole charge or in one of the larger branches.

You must be pet and client-centric and have excellent communication skills, competent in spays and castrates.

Branch:

We have fantastic clients and we are active in the local community. We take pride in our collaborative approach; you will have the opportunity to call upon our experienced vets for advice. including Certificate Holders. 

All out-of-hour care is managed by a local Medivet Beckenham hospital, where you will also have access to VVS services.
