Veterinary Assistant – SPA Vets – Gloucester (Independent practice)

We are looking to add another vet to our busy, progressive, 2 site small animal practice in Gloucester.

We have a number of vets who have worked at the practice for over 20 years but we also have recent experience of supporting new graduate vets.

We are proudly independent and this means that as well as focusing on patient and client care we can also truly nurture our staff and listen and respond to their individual needs and opinions.

With an additional member of the team we will be doing 1 in 6 weekends and any new graduates would have second on call from one of the directors as well as an oncall nurse at all times. We do our own out of hours work and believe this is important to the clients but also that this helps less experienced staff members to progress and learn. We have an excellent, loyal, longstanding nurse team.

We have 2 sites and all the usual toys. CPD is funded and encouraged. We will provide a generous package based on experience, new graduates should expect pay reviews regularly throughout the first year and beyond to reflect performance and team skills. We really are like a family and believe this practice has a lovely working environment.

We are based in Gloucester which has excellent transport links, great walks in the beautiful Cotswolds and of course a rugby obsession!

The lovely spa town of Cheltenham is close by and the recently regenerated Gloucester docks has lots to offer.

S.P.A. Vets was established in 1969 by Bill Stewart and has grown into a 5 vet, companion animal practice.

We have two premises; our main surgery on Painswick Road, and our branch surgery in Quedgeley. We are a friendly, caring practice and we offer a first-class service to our clients and their pets.

We have 5 full-time vets- the three Directors, Cliff Alderman,  Clare Morrison and Becky O'Dowd. Our associate, Steve Parker has been with us since 1997 and our other associate, Klara Taylor, joined in 2010. We are fortunate to have the help of part-time vets Bill Pigott, Tania Ball and Liz Tillott.
