The Role
 
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our team. Days per week would depend on whether you are looking for full time or part time but would likely range between 3-4 days per week, with a 1 in 4 Saturday morning rota.  Shift patterns would include a mixture of 9am-5pm and 9am-7.30pm shifts with a half an hour lunch break. No OOH shifts.

Day to day duties include routine surgeries, emergency surgeries, routine and emergency consultations, answering advice phone calls and e-mails and dispensing prescriptions.
Responsibilities will sometimes entail being sole charge at the practice.
 
About Us
 
Sanders Vets is a 5 vet small animal practice in a small village in South Wales, close to Cardiff and the stunning surrounding mountainous countryside. There is a train station approximately 5 minutes’ drive from the practice. Recently refurbished so very clean and new, we have digital x-ray, ultrasonography with a cardiac and new linear probe, endoscopy with a bronchoscope, tonopen, kennels and separate cattery, theatre with space for 2 surgeons to operate concurrently, separate dental room with dental radiography and 4 consulting rooms.

We are a friendly, welcoming group with a very low staff turnover rate. Our team is made up of 5 Veterinary Surgeons, 6 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Kennel Assistant, Practice Manager, Head Receptionist and 3 additional Receptionists and Insurance Administrator. We have a certificate holder in diagnostic imaging, no specialists. Our priority is to provide compassionate patient care with excellent client communication.
 
Applicant Requirements
 
The ideal candidate would be an experienced general practice vet who is happy with all aspects of veterinary care, is a team player and has exceptional communication skills, empathy and passion for the best client care. Would be a bonus to have a particular interest in medicine, however any certificates/specialities would be very welcomed.
We are looking for an experienced candidate who is happy with all aspects of both routine and emergency consultations, and the common routine and surgical emergencies, including but not limited to neutering, mass removals, dentals, pyometras, C-sections, ex-laps, x-rays/ultrasound imaging. MRCVS qualification or equivalent required.
