Chapel House Vets - Veterinary Surgeon Opportunity Available

Chapel House Vets are looking to welcome an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our wonderful team.

· Full & part time applications welcomed

· 40 hours per week (with varied shifts between 8am and 7pm)

· Just 1 in 6 weekends (sat 9am till 3pm / sun 10am till 12pm)

· 1 in 6 Saturday mornings (9am till 1pm)

· No on call work but some out of hours in patient care

Here at Chapel House Vets we are a busy small animal practice who see a wide variety of cases.

Your role will see you caring for small animals and sometimes wildlife. You will have a good mixture of consultations and surgeries each week. Case continuity is important to us where possible and we offer 15 minute consultations.

Your role will be split between our main surgery and branch site. Our main premises at Hady Hill is housed in a converted Chapel and is characterful with some beautiful, original features and at the beginning of 2020 the practice completed a full renovation. Making the practice a brighter, more modern work space with top of the range equipment and facilities.

In 2014, due to continued business growth we opened a branch surgery in the neighbouring area of Staveley, the premises were previously a doctor’s surgery and we renovated here to provide two floors of modern veterinary premises.

Both practices have all the facilities and equipment you would expect in general practice including digital Xray’s, digital dental Xray’s, tonometer, video otoscope, rigid endoscopy, multiple multiparameter patient monitoring devices and ultrasound.

We are RCVS PSS accredited to GP status and an RVN training centre affiliated with Nottingham Trent University.

Our team is a close knit group who regularly socialise together allowing for a working environment that is both professional and fun. We make sure we have time for our lunch hour and we often have lots of treats to enjoy like cakes and brownies! We make a fuss of birthdays and special occasions because we genuinely care about the milestones in the lives of all of our team members!

The team consists of 10 Vets, a wonderful RVN team and a fantastic front of house team. We have certificate holders in Dermatology and internal medicine and other vets in further studys in ECC, internal medicine and surgery. We also have a new graduate being supported by the Linnaeus graduate program. As a team we all support each other and often discuss clinical cases. Work life balance is a high priority of ours and there is lots to enjoy locally in your spare time. Chesterfield is a pleasant market town situated on the edge of the Peak District National Park. We are lucky enough to have a wide variety of night life, social activities and shops to suit everyone. Easy access to the M1 for Sheffield, Nottingham and Derby. We have good rail links to most major cities with frequent services direct to London. We are also less than a 40 minute drive to the local airport.

The package

• Salary commensurate with experience, (£35,000-£50,000)
• VDS and RCVS fees are also covered.
• Holiday allowance is 6 weeks per year, plus bank holidays plus your birthday off.
• The CPD allowance is 3 days per year and £1,500
• Over 120 hours+ of additional, in house, free online courses/content.
• Further study to the level of RCVS certificate can be funded and is strongly encouraged.
