Veterinary Surgeon

The Role

A rare opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our hospital team at My Vets, Clayton Le Dale, Blackburn. You will be based at the RCVS approved hospital which offers both GP work and also referral level care. The normal day will consist of consulting morning and afternoon; surgical procedures, inpatient care and triaging emergency cases from our 15 other branches and other local practices. There will also be opportunity to assist mentoring and observe the certificate holders in their case management.

About Us

We are a busy practice offering GP and referral work. We are well equipped with CT, radiography including dental, ultrasound and endoscopy. We have certificate holders in dermatology, ophthalmology, internal medicine and surgery.

We have a large team of 26 Vets with a range of experience - with multiple RVNS, SVNs and ANAs who support the Vets in the working day and OOHs. We are proud to be a VN training practice and have been nominated as practice of the year for our local training provider. We have four current certificate holders and a further 4 Vets studying for them. We actively encourage CPD and furthering your knowledge.

Applicant Requirements

This is an ideal role for someone who wants to move their clinical skills up the ladder and further develop ECC skills and surgery skills in a supportive and encouraging environment. 

Ideally you should be happy with most basic surgical cases and be happy independently managing most first opinion medical cases. Although we are happy to provide support where needed.
