Job Details

We are looking for an enthusiastic veterinary surgeon to join our friendly team. The position is full time (40 hours per week). The OOH rota is shared, including 1 Saturday in 4. Clinical experience is necessary as while we have a supportive clinical team there are busy periods where being able to work independently is a requirement. Benefits includes a good salary based on experience, CPD allowance, health insurance, VDS cover, BVA membership, RCVS fees, and your holiday includes a day off on your birthday.

Purton Vets has an excellent reputation in the local and wider community of North Wiltshire. The clinical team is made up of 5 vets and 6 RVNs and 1 SVN. The practiced joined IVC in 2012 who have continued to invest in the practice and staff, allowing us to continue to manage the practice on a local level while benefiting from the support of a larger group. All our RVNs and trainee nurses have completed the ‘Fear Free’ training scheme.

We are a gold certificate cat friendly clinic and we consider the emotional wellbeing of our patients as important as their physical health. We have a range of good quality equipment including patient warming systems, infusion pumps, capnography, blood pressure, tonometry, dental x-ray, doppler ultrasound, flexible gastroscope, bronchoscope, rigid endoscopes, laparoscopy, and in-house blood testing. We use peripatetic veterinary referral services to offer ophthalmology and orthopaedic surgery on site. We encourage teamwork and communication. We have morning and afternoon rounds every day to discuss cases as well as monthly clinical and practice meetings. Professional development is encouraged.
