We are a supportive friendly team with everyone willing to help if required. No OOH or on call is required just a share of Saturday mornings 8:30-12:00 amongst the Vets. The salary would start from £32,000 but is negotiable with experience.

About Us

We are a 4-vet small animal practice, looking to become 5. We have vets with a wide range of skill sets and are a true first opinion practice in a busy town. We encourage our nurses to utilise their skills to the maximum and also engage 2 enthusiastic ACAs within our team. We are a busy, friendly practice with a varied caseload, working closely with our local Charity providers as well as private clientele. We aim to keep most surgeries in house but have great referral opportunities locally in order to help us provide an excellent service for our patients.

We are a very approachable and collaborative team that regularly work together on cases to achieve the best outcome for the client. We are very supportive of CPD and further qualifications and we are happy for you to pursue any specific areas of interest. We have all the usual equipment, including our own in-house Idexx biochemistry and haematology analysers along with standard diagnostic laboratory equipment, digital x-ray, ultrasound, tonopen and our multi-parameter anaesthetic monitoring machine. We are a happy, busy small team servicing the pets of Falkirk with passion and pride, coffee and cake is always available and we strive to help all clients and staff supporting each other.

Company

The Grahams Road Veterinary Clinic was founded in Falkirk nearly 90 years ago and treats all the normal household pet types. The Veterinary Surgeons have nearly 50 years of experience between them.

A dedicated team of caring, qualified Veterinary Nurses and support staff help the 5 Veterinary Surgeons in their work.

The Practice is Tier 2 Practice under the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Practice Standards Scheme - just one step below Veterinary Hospital. The Practice takes Veterinary Students from the various Veterinary Colleges as part of their training and teaches some of the more practical aspects of Veterinary Medicine. GRVC is also a member of the Feline Advisory Bureau, and takes a keen interest in it’s work and goals. We are extremely proud to say that during refurbishments we created a separate Cattery area now (as well as replacing our kennels) where sick and recovering patients can rest in a less stressful environment.

All members of the clinical staff undertake continued professional development training to improve their skills and abilities. This training covers the range of species that are treated by the Practice - from Lop Ear Rabbits to the largest of dogs, and everything in between.

Not all practices have achieved these standards of staff training, staff professionalism and practice accreditation - these standards are not easy to achieve and maintain. We view them as essential, but they have a cost which can give rise to other practices appearing cheaper - you may not be comparing like with like if cost is the only comparison you use : ask what training the staff responsible for your pet have received and ask what Standards the practice has reached. Not all practices are the same.
