Job Details

Medivet Birstall 24 hour are currently seeking a confident Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly and experienced team. We would also consider a year 3 SVN that is soon due to qualify.

You will be involved in all aspects of nursing. Previous experience working in a small animal practice is required. In this role you will be responsible for a variety of nursing duties as well as sharing best practice with your team.

This is a full time role working 40 hours per week on either an early or a late shift between the hours of 7.45am - 8.15pm with the standard 1 in 4 weekend shifts.

Skills and experience:

Essential Attributes:

RCVS registration

English language skills

Computer literate

Proven ability to communicate effectively

Proven empathy with patients and clients

Demonstrate initiative in patient welfare

Understand duties that may and may not be undertaken by PCA’s or student

nurses.

Desirable Attributes:

Demonstrable ability to work in a team and lead a team

Demonstrable ability to work under pressure

Attention to detail

Small animal practical experience and realistic job expectations

Branch:

Medivet Birstall is one of our 24-hour practices which is open 365 days a year. The practice is equipped with the latest technology including ECG, In-house laboratory, operating theatre, digital x-ray, dentistry equipment and Ultrasound. The successful candidate will be joining a dedicated team of day and night staff.  The practice sees a busy and varied caseload and is a training practice for nurses and Vets training on our Graduate Support Programme.

The practice is located just off the A6 and is a short distance from the A46, A607 and on-site parking for staff and customers and is opposite a parade of shops with places to eat, supermarkets, cafes, banks and more all in walking distance.
