Our practice is a first opinion and referral hospital, we are proudly independent run by son, mother and father. We have a great team of staff that work towards the best possible outcome for the patient at costs that are accessible for most clients making us different to most referral centres. We have RCVS hospital status along with “OUTSTANDING” awards from the RCVS. We make a huge difference in the veterinary profession as there are not many places out there like us, just look at our reviews for examples. Our facilities are outstanding and consist of MRI (in-house), CT (in-house), colour doppler ultrasound, video endoscopy, 3 theatres, DR x-ray suite just to name a few. The whole hospital is located on one floor so no need for stairs or lifts.
Due to the growth of the practice, we are looking for a Veterinarian who is willing to go the extra mile to ensure strong client - practice relationships are maintained. With 6 vets, 12 RVNs and 4 Receptionists making up our cheerful, experienced and knowledgeable support team, clients receive an “outstanding” level of service from us. We are looking for someone who is great communicator, who emphasises on outstanding patient care and high client satisfaction. This is a great opportunity for a vet who enjoys consulting and wishes to expand on their knowledge and experience within surgery and imaging. With the support of certificate holders in surgery, dermatology and imaging as well access to state of the art facilities and equipment we offer the ability for vets to work up cases without the need for referral elsewhere.
You will be required to work a 4 day week, weekends are 1 in 5 Saturdays. With no OOH but the opportunity to cover a small caseload of internal OOH, we offer an attractive salary and pension package. Accommodation is also available, as well as access to a vehicle if required.
The candidate would have RCVS fees paid, support from our certificate holding vets, 40+ year qualified clinical director and in house CPD from diplomats. We have a large practice gym for staff only. We have annual staff BBQ’s and other staff gathering during the year to ensure all out team feel appreciated and included in moving the business forward. Staff pension and other benefits are available on application.

Wigan has a great history and there are many attractions in the area whether you are a keen golfer or like to read in our local library, many restaurants and other attractions are a simple walk away from the practice for great convenience.
