The Role
We are currently looking for an experienced veterinary surgeon to fulfil a lead/senior clinical role within our team. The role will be full time, but you will enjoy a standard 4-day working week, with an equal share in our Saturday rota (working 2 Saturdays in 5). There is no requirement for out of hours work as this is covered by our colleagues at Holly House. You will work primarily at our main surgery alongside our other veterinary surgeons, help inspire and develop our New Graduate Vets and may cover occasional sole charge work at our Branch Surgery. You will get a good mix of both medical and surgical cases and will have outstanding nursing support across the board.

About Us
Holmefield is a friendly and long established 100% Small Animal practice sitting within the heart of our semi-rural community but our proximity to the vibrant cities of York and Leeds, the North Yorkshire Moors and the East Coast gives us easy access to all that Yorkshire has to offer. Our purpose built and recently extended and renovated premises provide us with the perfect working environment and enable us to practice a high standard of first opinion care. We have all the usual equipment readily to hand to enable us to offer the complete, efficient, and comprehensive service that we know is relied upon by our loyal client base. Our progressive team have a strong and inclusive culture where everyone is empowered to follow their interests and be the best version of themselves with the some recent achievements among our team, through nurses attaining the Vets Now Emergency Critical Care Certificate and the ISFM Diploma in Feline Nursing, demonstrate our commitment to each other as well as to our patients. Our primary focus is to deliver the veterinary care our patients would choose for themselves through excellent clinical care, backed up by building lasting bonds with our clients based on communication and trust.

Applicant Requirements
The perfect fit for our team will be an enthusiastic and compassionate experienced veterinary surgeon with a passion for client care equal to their natural clinical drive. They will enjoy working within a close-knit team and be keen to continue to develop their skills whilst sharing their unique experiences with us, to allow us all to learn from each other. Enthusiasm for inspiring younger Vets starting out on their careers will be important as some mentoring of newly/recently graduated vets will be required. A surgical bias would be preferred and if not already at a level of certificate holding in this area, CPD would be encouraged to achieve certificate status. Our ideal new colleague will take pride in their work and be driven to succeed and a sense of fun and a fondness for cake will ensure that they feel at home from day 1!
