Here at Moorview Vets we have an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly team in Backworth, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. This is a full-time permanent role, working 40 hours a week, over 4 days. There is a requirement to work 1 in every 6 weekends with bank holidays being shared between the veterinary team, which roughly works out to be 1-2 a year. There are no out of hours with this role. All our of our vets' time is split between a mix of consulting and surgery with some also being involved in an emergency and critical care role and dentistry. Consulting is split between our main hospital site at Backworth and our 5 smaller branches. Most vets split their time between Backworth and 1 dedicated branch. Salary banding for this role is £38,000 - £52,000 DOE
We are a large, multi-site practice in the Northeast of England with a range of experience across the team. We have modern, high quality equipment including a CT scanner, dental x-ray and DR x-ray and we aim to provide our patients and clients with a gold standard level of care.
Our practice has a warm, friendly and supportive team, which includes 12 RVNs,3 SVNs,7 vets who are certificate holders and 6 vets studying towards certificates currently. There is a great team atmosphere and help is always at hand, especially for those tricky cases! We are situated a short distance from beautiful beaches and also have direct transport links to Newcastle, ideal for a trip to the seaside, walks along the beautiful coast line or a day out in the City.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring veterinary surgeon with excellent communication skills. All applicants will be considered but the role is ideally suited to a vet with several years of clinical experience. A particular clinical interest in surgery would be beneficial and further study, including certificates, is encouraged, and funded. A full UK driving licence is required.
