Clinical Director required at Richmond House Vets, Dewsbury

The Role
We have an excellent opportunity for a Clinical Director or a Senior Veterinary Surgeon looking to progress into a Clinical Director role here at Richmond House, Dewsbury. Day to day duties in the main include overseeing the general running of the Practice. Management duties will involve working in tandem with the Practice Manager and Business Support Manager along with a substantial amount of clinical work time operating and consulting. The outgoing Clinical Director performed many advanced orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries and for someone with an interest in surgery this would be a great opportunity. Mentoring and coaching of less experienced Veterinary Surgeons is an important part of the role and something you must be willing to embrace.

The role is averaged out on a 5-day week basis with days off in lieu for any Saturdays worked (2 in 6), shift patterns can be flexible by arrangement. There is no out of hours cover required with this role as we use a great out of hours provider locally.

About Us
We are a busy first opinion practice located Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. We provide a full range of medical and surgical services to a wide spectrum of clients and their beloved pets. We offer all routine surgery plus some more advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures. We have fully equipped operating room with ultrasonic instrument cleaning and vacuum sterilisers separated from non-clean procedure areas, including a separate diagnostic x-ray/ultrasound room. We can offer in house blood testing using the latest Idexx analysers and also Sedivue analyser for urine sediment analysis. We have facilities to offer blood pressure testing, cryosurgery, to perform suction and have a fully integrated dental equipment. We make use of several great local referral centres locally when needed. Dewsbury is in a great central location in the fabulous county of Yorkshire, with many great locations close by including beautiful countryside and buzzing city locations. We have easy transport links to all directions.

About the Team and Culture
Our enthusiastic team consists of 7 Veterinary Surgeons with varying amounts of experience, led and fully supported by the Clinical Director. They are supported by 7 caring nursing staff and a great team of permanent and part time reception staff overseen by the Practice Manager. We have a culture of consideration and kindness in the practice toward the patients and clients but also to staff members. Our main aim with patients is always to provide the highest-level clinical care practical, regardless of whether the client is insured or has less to spend in these challenging times.

Applicant Requirements
We are hoping to welcome a Veterinary Surgeon to our team with great clinical and personable skills who is ideally a keen and skilled surgeon happy to carry out more advanced procedures at the Practice and oversee the surgical side on daily basis. Ideally you would have had some management or Clinical Director experience but the role may suit an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking to step up and learn the skills needed for a Clinical Director position. We have available enrolment on the IVC Evidensia Leadership Development Programme if this would be advantageous.

Team management experience would be desirable along with a good amount of problem-solving common sense!

We are a busy practice, and some days workflow will be challenging while other days allow more time for managing the practice and private study. We require some resilience, stamina, and energy to allow the Practice to progress and move forward.
