The Role

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Veterinary Surgeon to join the Manor team! The position is full time across 4 days, but we are open to considering part time applicants. This is over 4 days 8.30am- 7.30pm. You would be expected to work 1:3 Saturday mornings, 9am-1pm but would receive a half day the following week to compensate. No OOH, as all is covered by Vets now.

Day to day duties will be to provide excellent care to our lovely clients and their pets. We perform operations in the morning with a typical finishing by 1pm, then consults start at 2.30pm until 6.30pm. The vets have time in the afternoon consults to write up notes and contact clients (and to have a very important tea break). Consults are 15 minutes long, with double appointments for complicated cases and euthanasia to give you time to deal with the clients and not rush.

Salary up to £37,500 per annum dependent on experience.

About Us

We have a beautiful purpose built practice with lots of parking. We have digital/dental x-ray, ultrasound, endoscope, in house laboratory - we're looking to expand our equipment, what would you like? We are located on a business park close to the motorway. We have the sea and the downs on our doorstep. Eurotunnel is literally just down the road and there is easy access to the fast speed link to London (45 minutes by train to central London). Check out the google tour on our website www.manorveterinaryclinic.co.uk.

Team and Culture

We have 4 veterinary surgeons with 26 years’ experience between them (3.25 FTE), we are looking for someone who wants to progress their career with the help and support of our wonderful team. Violeta has a certificate in small animal surgery and is clinical coach for our 2nd year graduate, Nieka who has fitted into the team really well. Steph as one of our Vets has a wealth experience, including at CD level. Raz has been with us 4 years and is taking on CD responsibility, we just need one more committed vet and our team will be complete. We will support you with your chosen career path and would love to chat to you about what that might be.

We have 7 nurses; 6 RVN's and 1 student. They have loads of experience and run their own consults. They are passionate about their work. We have 4 receptionists (3 of them have been with us forever!). They know most of the clients and have a great rapport with them. Then there's us - we have 2 practice managers - we are happy to arrange your referrals, fill out your insurance forms and generally make your life as easy as we can.

We have peripatetic vets who come into the practice for orthopaedics and heart problems. If you're interested in these disciplines, we try to involve you as much as we can. Prior to the pandemic, we had an annual open day with lots of cake, games, raffles (did I mention cake?) March 2020 would have been our 10th Anniversary and we had lots of plans - we're hoping for 2022! We used this to support Battersea, along with running cake sales (yep, cake again) and our ever popular 'purple poppies' in November. We also used to visit local schools, brownies, beavers to talk about our jobs and looking after pets - hopefully we can get back to this soon.

Applicant Requirements

We are open to all levels of experience, due to being able to support all applicants. This is thanks to our experienced and supportive clinical team who can encourage and develop the successful applicant. We ask that you have a committed approach to your work, with a positive can do attitude. You must be a great communicator and team player with excellent bed side manner.

Company

Manor Veterinary Clinic achieved Tier 2 Veterinary Nursing Training Practice status recognition by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeon's Practice standards scheme in 2008.  This involves a rigorous inspection by the RCVS to ensure that their high standards have been attained in: patient care, hygiene, cleanliness, 24 hour emergency service, equipment and expertise; with random spot checks and repeat inspections being carried out every four years.  This voluntary scheme offers peace of mind to clients in making a distinction between practices without prior veterinary knowledge or time spent looking around.  Having passed the RCVS's inspection we are authorized to use their logo to signify that we comply.  If you would like more information on the scheme please visit their Website: RCVS - Practice Standards
