REGISTERED VETERINARY NURSE OR EXPERIENCED SVN REQUIRED - GLASTONBURY
Orchard Vets are looking for a friendly, confident RVN or experienced SVN to work in our independent, purpose built, forward thinking practice, situated in Glastonbury on the beautiful Somerset levels, only an hour from Bristol. We are a mixed, 1st opinion, PSS accredited and a training practice, actively supporting career progression and CPD.
The successful applicant will work alongside a friendly team of 5 RVNs, 3 SVNs, 1 VCA and 7 vets as well as a large reception team delivering outstanding care to our patients and clients alike. We are a very supportive team who will help you ensure high clinical standards are met, providing guidance to more junior colleagues.
The role will include a variety of responsibilities, such as clinical duties, theatre work, patient care, clinics, diagnostics and reception. New ideas and a willingness to develop the nursing side of the practice are welcomed and the role will be tailored to suit the strengths and talents of the successful applicant.
Days and hours can be reasonably flexible, because we are open to both full and part time applications, and will require some out of hours work on a rota’d basis currently 1:6 which is shared equally between our team of nurses; OOH duties are paid in addition to salary. Our out of hours are relatively quiet generally speaking with the vets taking the phones, so there are no triage calls coming in directly to the nursing team. The nurses are only called out once the vet has seen the patient and assessed the requirements.
Depending on experience we can offer a qualified salary range between £20,000 - £27,000 basic pay per annum (pro rata) with OOH duties worked paid on top. A detailed induction package, with regular appraisals will be provided.
We have 2 operating theatres, self-contained dental suite, imaging suite, fully equipped laboratory, separate cattery, kennels and isolation wards with ISFM cat friendly accreditation as well as RWAF rabbit friendly status. We have 4 consult rooms, one specifically designated for our nurses and separate dog and cat waiting areas. Our excellent facilities allow our clinical team to deliver veterinary care with a dedicated focus of providing high clinical standards. Our values are at the heart of how we build our culture and how we treat each other. By acting and behaving in accordance with our values, we achieve better cooperation, communication and create a more positive working environment. In this ever-changing world, we care for animals and people and promise to treat each other with decency and respect.
Benefits (pro rata):
• 4 weeks paid holiday not including bank holidays
• Service based holiday entitlement increases
• Relevant funded CPD is actively encouraged
• RCVS Membership paid
• VDS cover
• Discounted veterinary fees
• Training support
