Equine Veterinary Surgeon required at Scarsdale Vets -Farm & Equine, Derby

About the role

This post is a permanent position and is primarily an ambulatory role. We have hospitalisation and operating facilities available in the Equine Clinic with the usual range of equipment, enabling provision of an outstanding level of client and patient care, and deal with an extremely varied equine caseload. There is the opportunity to follow cases through with support from the team when required. We have friendly clients who are primarily sports and leisure horse owners.

Whilst experience is preferred an enthusiastic new graduate would also be considered and fully supported in this role.

About Scarsdale Vets - Farm and Equine

Our Markeaton practice is set in the Allestree area of Derby and offers high level equine and farm veterinary services. We have experienced and dedicated teams and access to excellent facilities. These include sixteen stables with boxes for critical care patients, foaling boxes and an operating

About the Team and Culture

Our friendly team of seven equine vets have varying experience, from recent graduates to certificate holders, with different individual interests including but not limited to lameness, medicine, dentistry and reproduction. There are regular case discussions and individual development is supported and encouraged. We also have assistance from visiting specialists. The equine veterinary team is supported by excellent equine nursing and reception teams.

Personal and Professional attributes you are looking for within a candidate

You must have:

1. RCVS qualification

2. Full driving licence

3. Own vehicle

4. An interest in equine ambulatory practice

5. Good working knowledge of core procedures

Would be great if you have:

1. Interest in Equine dentistry
